Nursery Rhymes

Since the birth of Zeke, we have been playing and listening to nursery rhymes in the car.  Have you ever paid attention to the lyrics in some of the nursery rhymes.  Check these out.

Rock-a-bye Baby
Rock-a-bye baby, on the treetops,
When the wind blows, the cradle will rock,
When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall,
And down will come baby, cradle and all.
Really!  How morbid is this.  Who would put their kid in a treetop, in a cradle, in a windstorm?  Call DHR - unfit parents wrote this nursery rhyme.

Rub-a-dub-dub
Rub-a-dub-dub,
Three men in a tub,
And how do you think they got there?
The butcher, the baker,
The candlestick-maker,
They all jumped out of a rotten potato,
'Twas enough to make a man stare
Come on Man!  Who would put three grown men in a tub?  And, why write a nursery rhyme about it?  I have never been in a tub with three dudes - no wonder we live in a messed up world - we teach young kids immorality from a young age.  And, if I just had to be in a tub with three dudes, there definitely wouldn’t be a butcher in there with me.  I’m just saying.
